The beginning of a new chapter!

Hello blogging world! The hubby and I thought we'd start a blog together to capture the moments of our pregnancy and the birth of our child.  At this moment our wonderful baby boy is almost 6 weeks old so I'm going to have to play catch up on this blog!  I'll start with my pregnancy: We found out we were pregnant the day before mother's day 2011 and so it was a great time to tell the family and a fabulous feeling, I even got a pre-mother's day present and card from my fur-baby, Paris (our puppy) ;) The family was super stoked as were we and thus began a new chapter in our life!!

A Bird's Eye View of The Preggo Days:

The first week or so after we found out, I wasn't having any weird preggo symptoms and my hubby was weirded out as he thought pregnancy equaled what he saw on different tv shows ...vomiting and nausea all the time and crazy cravings.....Was I jinxed by this thought? As just a few days after that my symptoms began and the nausea and vomiting didn't end until the 9th month began.....the tv phenomenon was occurring in our house as I couldn't open the fridge without puking and then I know I'm supposed to be bowing down to the porcelain god but I couldn't because the mear thought of rear ends on the toilet made me want to puke even more...so what would I do? Use the sink! Yes, I really did!  My dear hubby had a lot of sinks to unclog by the end of this 9 months!

As for cravings, I thought I would be gorging on pizza, fries, burgers, and all that scrumptious greasy stuff I adore......what really happened: Because of the aforementioned puke, all I craved for was the things my palate used to find quite boring like daal chawal (a boring Indian lentil and rice) and akkne  (another mild Indian rice dish with vegetables). Thankfully I'm blessed to have my mom in town to cook these foods for me as I wasn't in any mood to cook :)  I also fell in love with tangerines, soup, and a tuna fish phase.  What was really weird was that I am the ultimate meat lover and I couldn't go near chicken and beef!  Once I wanted a certain type of fruit juice mix at 4 am and thankfully for hubby this juice concotion was in our fridge! :)

During all this we were so exhilarated at the thought that there was a baby growing inside, a live soul that would come into our world which we would get the opportunity to nurture!  We did several things to start feeding his soul by talking to him, singing to him, playing all kinds of music, from classical to hip hop to ginans (religious hymns)!  It was a magical feeling to touch my stomach and feel this life growing inside me...
